Many students in many countries choose Australia as a good destination for their higher studies after college education. This is mainly because of the reputation of the Australian universities and the quality of life in Australia.Nobody knows why, but many choose Melbourne as the preferred city to live.

Melbourne is in the state called Victoria, Adelaide is in South Australia, Sydney is in New South Wales.
All these main cities have good Universities. But you have to think and identify your priorities in life before choosing a University in Australia.
If you want to have a life with full of 'fun' then better choose Sydney or Melbourne. But if you need a peaceful and a quiet life, then it should be Adelaide without any doubt.
Cost wise, Adelaide -> Melbourne -> Sydney in ascending order ;)
As a whole, the quality of Education is almost the same in all the cities even though there might be few minor differences.

Have you been to Adelaide?
Adelaide is also Cosmopolitan. Maybe not as much as Melbourne. But still the life is not hectic.
Can afford to live near the city. I mean just 10 - 15 mins away.
People are very civilised in Adelaide. It's the most civilised city in Australia according to the 2006 Govt report.
We do have Clean water mate. And very less water restrictions as well.
We have the Adelaide Oval ;)
Adelaide hosts the Clipsal 500!
